Line of the Day: Manny Ramirez

Welcome to Fantasy Hurler's Line of the Day, one of our new daily features for the 2008 season. Here's how it's going to work. Every night, likely before I turn in for good, I'll be posting the Line of the Day -- the most impressive fantasy line from that day's games. This isn't exactly a scientific endeavor; there's no hard criteria for being awarded the Line of the Day. It'll just be the guy whose game stats stand out the most and make you go, "Wow, now that's a good day at the plate/on the mound."

Occasionally, I might miss an obvious Line of the Day. (Hopefully, not too often.) Also, the player who should earn LotD honors could be playing in a late West Coast game, and I sleep through it. When this happens, feel free to rectify the situation in the comments. In fact, part of the reason I'll be doing this is to create a place for readers to talk about that day's games. Consider the Line of the Day post that place. You can discuss the recent output of the player awarded the Line of the Day ... or anybody else whose line helped/killed your team on that given day.

So with introductions out of the way, today's Line of the Day goes to ...

Manny Ramirez: 2-for-5, 1 run, 4 RBI

Nice start to the '08 season for Manny, as his Red Sox beat the A's in Japan (thanks to some truly atrocious baserunning ... which you'll be hearing more about from me later).

thank the lord for that atrocious base running. Does Brandon Moss (who?) deserve an honorable mention here? The guy wasn't even supposed to play!

Horray for baseball being back!

FYI - If you still need to register a fantasy league, today is the last day to take advantage of the CBSSports.com $50 Commissioner's Rebate Offer:
