Line of the Day: Vladimir Guerrero

I almost gave Jon Garland today's Line of the Day for his eight-inning gem, but he didn't record any strikeouts. Matt Cain and Derek Lowe are also having a hell of a pitchers' duel in a late game as we speak. But let's instead go with ...

Vladimir Guerrero: 3-for-4, 1 run, 3 RBI

Vlad could be a steal for a lot of fantasy owners who got him late in the second round this year, so long as his body doesn't fail him.

I'm seriously going to bed now, but by morning, Dice-K may have deserve this honor. He's at two hits, no walks, one earned run and a whopping nine strikeouts through six.

Stupid late games. Maybe I should hold off on the Line of the Day until morning on some nights. Hmm ...

Yeah, Dice K has eclipsed Vlad.

I must have jinxed Dice-K with that comment. I wake up this morning to see that he only recorded two more outs after I posted that comment and gave up a home run to boot. Still an awesome game, but I don't feel all that bad about going with Vlad now.
