Tough call today. Three different SPs had 10 Ks: Harden in his NL debut, Volquez and Santana each in seven-inning wins. Three different guys went back for seconds on taters: Jason Bay drove in five on his pair, and Adam Dunn brought four in.
But we're going with Victorino for four reasons.
1.) His 3-for-3 trumps Bay's (2-for-5) and Dunn's (2-for-4) lines.
2.) He hit both his shots off The Big Unit, and that has to count for something (even if Randy is 206 years old).
3.) C'mon, it's Shane Victorino. Bay, Dunn, Harden, Volquez and Santana will all have other days like today. But you were counting on big power days out of Victorino?
4.) He did it all while playing with a yellow card.
Shane Victorino: 3-for-3, 2 runs, 2 HR, 3 RBI
