Line of the Day: Melvin Mora

I stepped away from Fantasy Hurler World Headquarters (which is not, despite some bleating to the contrary, in anybody's basement, thank you very much, Mr. Bite Me Turtle Boy) to catch Rockies-Dodgers tonight at Chavez Ravine. I wanted to give Willie Taveras some mention tonight, thanks to two fine catches in centerfield to help preserve the Rockies win, but he didn't do much at the plate.

At this point in the season, counting stats help you much more than rate stats; let's face it: it would take an out-of-the-ordinary batting performance to lift you in the standings. So we'll give an honorable mention to Mike Aviles tonight.

Kelly Shoppach and Travis Metcalf deserve mention as well for going back for seconds on taters, but I wonder how many people had either in their lineups. Plus, I think Mora's homer/snag night might help more.

Melvin Mora: 1-for-3, 2 runs, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 SB
