Line of the Day: Carlos Zambrano (No-Hitter Edition)

Carlos Zambrano: 9 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K for the W

Michael Bourn's the guy who drew the walk that stopped this from being a perfect game. Big Z was in fine form in his first start in almost two weeks. Guess that rotator cuff feels better. So strange that this game ended up being played in Milwaukee, having been relocated from Houston thanks to Hurricane Ike, and then the (technically) visiting pitcher hurls a no-no in front of mostly home-crowd fans.

Funny how KROD breaking the single-season saves record gets little or no love on this site.
Goes to show just how unimportant the save has become in the real world and is just another stat to chase in the fantasy baseball world.

Are you saying he deserves more love than Big Z, who did notch a no-no? Maybe he should have gotten the nod for LotD the other day over BJ Ryan, but it is Line of the Day, right? KRod will get his share of Cy Young votes, and will get that stupid Fireman of the Year award, and be ridiculously overpaid this winter. Does he need a shrine, too? Saves is partially a stat of opportunity as well. As a Bobby Jenks owner in multiple leagues, I can't even remember how many times this year that the Sox put up an extra run in the 8th to make it a four-run game. Not to take too much away from K-Rod's accomplishment, but it was Bobby Thigpen's record that he broke, right? Not Eck, mind you, but Bobby freakin' Thigpen......
